Handholding Support

FF facilitates the district/block to create open defecation free villages through pilot programs so that learning from the pilot can feed into the district action plan for scaling up the program at the district level. Some of the key projects executed or on-going are as follows:

Feedback has provided implementation support in four districts in Bihar (DFID-funded project) with the mandate of creating 4 focus blocks (one block in each district) open defecation free using the CLTS approach/Community Approaches to sanitation, for demonstration and future scaling up.

Implementation support was provided to Dhar and Khargone districts of Madhya Pradesh where 30 GPs across these two districts were created ODF with Feedback’s support. This was supported by WSP-SA, [The World Bank].

With the support of UNICEF and the district administration, Feedback had piloted School Led Total Sanitation (SLTS) (the first of its kind in India) to create rural schools and anganwadis in Shivpuri block of Shivpuri district open defecation free, child friendly and fully sanitised.

FF is also working with Odisha TMST (supported by DFID) to create 3 blocks ODF in Angul district. The project involves working with community institutions and SHGs by strengthening them to accomplish the goal of achieving ODF status. As on date, about 242 villages have been created ODF within a span of 9 months. Another intervention supported by TMST in urban area of Puri.
